The 30-Day CPHQ Countdown Study Plan
Days 30 Through 25: Comprehensive Assessment
Begin your final month with an honest assessment of where you stand. Take a full-length, timed practice exam on day 30 and score it by domain. Spend days 29 through 25 analyzing your results. For each domain, categorize questions into three groups: concepts you know confidently, concepts you know partially, and concepts you do not know at all. This analysis creates your personalized study plan for the remaining weeks. Focus your time on the partially known concepts because they represent the highest return on investment for your study time.
Days 24 Through 15: Targeted Domain Review
Dedicate this ten-day block to focused review of your weakest domains. Spend two days each on your two weakest areas, and one day each on the next weakest domains. For each study session, review the core concepts, work through 20 to 30 practice questions on that domain, and create summary notes or flashcards for concepts that are not yet solid. Each day should include at least 60 to 90 minutes of active study. Use active recall techniques rather than passive rereading to maximize retention.
Days 14 Through 8: Integration and Mixed Practice
Shift from domain-specific study to integrative review during this week. Work through mixed practice sets that combine questions from all domains. This approach builds the cross-domain thinking skills that the exam requires. Take a second full-length practice exam on day 14 and compare your scores to your initial assessment. Identify any remaining weak areas and give them additional attention. Practice explaining concepts to someone else or teaching them out loud; this technique exposes gaps in understanding that silent review might miss.
Days 7 Through 3: Light Review and Consolidation
Reduce your study intensity during this period. Review your summary notes and flashcards for 30 to 45 minutes per day. Focus on reinforcing what you know rather than trying to learn new material. Take a final short practice quiz on day 5 as a confidence check. Spend time reviewing quality improvement formulas, acronyms, and key definitions that require precise recall. Begin adjusting your sleep schedule if necessary so that you are alert during the time slot of your actual exam.
Days 2 Through Exam Day: Rest and Preparation
On day 2, do a brief 15-minute review of your most important summary notes and then stop studying. Spend the rest of the day on activities that relax and energize you. Prepare everything you need for exam day: identification documents, directions to the testing center, comfortable clothing, and a plan for meals. On exam day, eat a balanced breakfast, arrive early, and trust your preparation. If you have followed this plan, you have done the work necessary to succeed. Stay calm, read each question carefully, and apply the knowledge you have built over months of study.
